I made some comparison with the cheaply made ones on the market at that time.

And I have provided it with a reasonable price, even much cheaper than the plastic one on the market.
It made me known by a lot of gamer and game craft collectors, and more collectors requested me to make more nice game crafts.
That's the beginning of our story.
But soon there were some competitors trying to copy my product, some other Chinese makers.
That's another funny truth, you know, it's a game knife, any maker can make it according to their understanding of the game knife.
But those makers still want to copy from the one I made.
As a game knife maker, I think I lack creativity because I can only make others designed knives instead of some originally designed knives.
It looks like they are even worse.
Since I don't ship my crafts to China at that moment.
They pretended to be my customer and gave me a Chinese address to get the prototype.
And after a few months, a copy of my Ocatne Balisong v3 was born on the market.
Okay, that's the story, now let's see how they made the copy- the replica of my Octane heirloom replica.
Here is a comparison of my Octane heirloom v3 (left) vs the copy one (right).
The first difference is the package.
Since I hadn't changed the package of my Octane heirloom v3 at the time they trying to get it.
They copied it with a plastic card box.
I used to don't care about the package, cause I thought the package would be thrown into a trash can after the receivers got the item.
But since a lot of buyers told me their gifting purpose, I have already upgraded it into a new gift carton box at the beginning of this year.
A gift carton surely makes it a higher-level gift for gamers.
The carton has a sponge line inside, so it provides nice protection for the product.
The practice has shown that it effectively avoided scratches and delivery damage via international transportation.
The second difference is the size.
The copy one (at right) seems a little smaller than my version.
I don't know why, maybe they want to save some material costs.
It's not a big problem, and buyers may not notice a 1cm/ 0.4" size difference.
The third difference is the liquid.
(You ignore the scratches on the picture, I have used both of them for flipping for a long time, so there were some scratches. Both of them have no obvious scratches when they are new.)
Mine is the Left one, and a copy is on the right side.
Since they can not get my formula for the chemical item I have put into the liquid, their copy is terrible.
You can see the liquid in my version looks like a mystery cocktail drink, but the copy one seems like green water with some dust.
The fourth difference is the screws.
The steel screws I used to make the Octane heirloom is customized. It means there are no such screws with the same parameter before.
So the copy one doesn't have the same screw, instead, they used something like plastic rivets. (rivets that touch like plastic, but look like metal)
That makes the copy knife quite loose when you shake the handle or the blade.
Besides, I have added bearings to my Octane heirloom V3 now.
The bearings inside the handle make it flipping better as a balisong trainer.
But as I always claimed, the Octane heirloom is not a good balisong trainer and is not suitable for long-term training.
That's mainly because it doesn't have a good structure as balisong tariner.
It just gives you a chance to enjoy the feeling of flipping a dream knife in real life.
The fifth difference between my version and the copy is the paint.
You can see clearly that the copy one doesn't have the handles' sides painted.
It makes the knife look extremely imperfect when it's folded.
Besides, the copy one made a mistake that I used to make with the Octane heirloom V1 handles' color is too light.
Those 5 differences are the biggest, but honestly, the copy is not so bad, since the copy one is made according to my version, lol.
Anyway, I just list the differences to help the buyer figure out them more easily.
Please notice that there is someone else who is selling the Octane heirloom with my Octane balisong picture, or copying my description, but they may not provide you with the same quality.
Maybe they will provide you with the copy knife at a cheaper price.
But maybe think about whether is it really worth collecting a deflect item just because its cheap price.
